                                 THINK PUBLIC RELATIONS!
                                               Source:google.com

Public Relations is fun when you know what to expect from the get go.

The saying the grass is always green on the other side is true. I myself as a public relations student got to experience that when all I thought was about public relations was proved to be wrong. It all started when I heard people talking about it and I thought to myself this public relations could be for me. I just loved the sound of public relations and knew from that day I was going to study public relations. Little did I know when all my expectations about public relations were not met which led to a lot of disappointments from my side. If I knew what I know now I would have prepared myself by finding out what is needed for one to take up public relations. From a distance one would swear public relations is a walk in a park, but when you get to take up the course you see things from a different perspective. Not everything about public relations is spotlight there is a behind the scene that requires time and effort.

Looking at these other institutions that do not even provide public relations as a course might make one have doubts about even considering taking public relations. A lot of University drop outs happen due to students who chose courses they know nothing about and do not even love.http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/education/one-in-six-firstyear-students-quit-college-30428659.html.Now to some of you who have done their research on what public relations is about and what is expected of you as a public relations student what I am about to say will confirm what you already know, but to those of you who are like me in those times when I enrolled the course this will give you insight and make whatever decision you will take more easier.

Now let start unpacking five things one must do before taking public relations as a study

  6. Wow Tshepi this is so motivating. Like you're just putting it out there for those who are about to take on the challenges you're were/are going through, preparing them for the long walk ahead in PR. It should be their stepping stones 'cause these guidlines are right on point.. But what I'd like to know is, is it the same with PR and Communications 'cause that's what I applied for and I've already been accepted. Would these guidlines be the same in that course?

  8. I too enrolled on a course I thought was good for me. I thought since I studied Maths and Science it would be best I study architecture and when I went to shadow architectures I found out it wasn't great for me. So your steps are really helpful since theory and practical are two different things.
